The Smith & Wesson Model 649 Bodyguard is a classic small-frame J-frame revolver built on a durable, all-stainless-steel construction. Designed specifically for concealed carry and personal defense, it features a distinctive shrouded hammer that prevents snagging on clothing during a draw while still allowing manual cocking for single-action capability alongside traditional double-action operation. Chambered in .38 Special, this 5-shot revolver delivers reliable performance, low-profile fixed sights, and a compact barrel length, providing a time-tested balance of manageable recoil, control, and pocket-friendly concealment.
